Beautiful 1980's Vietnamese blanket, made by The Mường tribe; an ethnic group native to North West Vietnam. The Mường is the country's third largest of 53 minority groups, with an estimated population of 1.45 million. The typical crafts of the Mường are weaving and knitting.
These blankets will have been, and still are used for daily purpose. They follow a central pattern design and are traditionally natural indigo and white/cream dye.
Today you could use one as a sofa throw, a wall hanging, a table cloth, or a blanket!
