These stunning pieces were originally used as a pillar top and base. Originating in Rajasthan, the matching carvings and splatters of white paint suggest that these two are an original set. Hand-carved from teak, these pieces showcase a variety of illustrations such as a lion, a ram etc. In Indian culture the lion symbolises courage and power, whilst the ram symbolises leadership and sacrifice. Acanthus leaves can also be seen as well as other intricate detailing throughout.
Nowadays, these beautiful capitals would make perfect side tables or decorative feature in any contemporary home!
