Here we have a traditional Japanese Nanbu Tekki (tetsubin) cast iron kettle, from the Iwate prefecture. And dates from the Showa period. Handcrafted from high - quality cast iron, a tradition which dates back over 400 years, this specific model is an Iwachu Tetsu Kyusu Sakura. This beautiful kettle has a rounded body adorned with a dense relief moulded pattern, specifically Sakura (cherry blossom or pine needle), which are classic motifs in Japanese art representing renewal and longevity. This beautiful piece encourages a slower more mindful approach to daily life and would complement any modern home especially as a dining table centrepiece.
