Here we have a stunning low tapered Chinese tea table, dating back to the late Ming Dynasty (1644-1912). This table is an excellent example of Chinese cabinetry, crafted from elmwood, the natural raw finish exposes a light, honey-blonde tone with a natural matte finish. Supported by four sturdy, circular based legs with a uniquely styled intersecting geometric lattice shelf providing both structural stability and open storage space. The upper section of the table features a flush, panelled inset top framed by wide mitered borders with visible mortise-and-tenon joinery. The front apron is divided into three sections; the flanking panels featuring carved interlocking geometric medallions and the central drawer, fitted with a traditional iron drop-ring handle. This stunning, functional piece would compliment any modern home particularly as a coffee table or side table.
