This stunning pair of Chinese doors were originally used as screen partition doors, allowing privacy and air flow simultaneously within the domestic home. However, we have converted them into a beautiful set of mirrors. Originating in the Qing dynasty, these doors are made from a Chinese soft wood and remanence of the original lacquer can still be seen. They have been hand-carved with lovely flower illustrations. The doors would have had a fabric backing but it has long since been removed, and we have used the existing rebate and stylish brass hinges to keep the mirrors in place.
