Here we have a wonderful, authentic piece of Himalayan heritage, a Nepalese vase dating back to the late 19th century. Hand carved from the wood of the "Dartree", this timber was favoured as it would effect the flavour of the milk. The heavy rope loops, on either side of the vase, indicates that although traditionally used to hold dairy products, this pot would have been carried on long treks through mountainous terrain, likely holding clarified butter or local spirits. This pot features a distinct, dark, rich patina which would compliment any modern home - especially repurposed as a vase for floral arrangements.
The dimensions are as follows: H - 17cm L - 13cm W - 13cm
