This interesting piece originated in Japan in 1892. It was hand-crafted from the woven textile known as hessian fabric. This bag also showcases painted text on the front. The main text translates to; 'Thousands of yen in gold'. This suggests what the bag potentially held, though we cannot say for certain. The smaller text translates to: 'Antiquities dealer, Rong Jinsong'. We believe that this is either the name of the owner or of the company.
Nowadays, this sack would make a bold statement piece in any home.
The dimensions are as follows: H - 61cm, W - 28cm.
