Stunning late 18th Century wooden bowl from the Yunnan area in Southwest China. This is a medium sized bowl, hand carved from one piece of wood. Its a deep dark brown colour and perfectly oval. The groove marks and holes are testament to its ancient and full history, a beautiful piece.
They were traditionally used as food preparation bowls, as well as to serve food in. Nowadays they would be a welcome piece in any home, as wall decoration or fruit bowl etc.
