Stunning late 18th Century wooden bowl from the Yunnan area in Southwest China. This wooden bowl is a huge example of one of these bowls, it's made from one solid piece of wood. It has ancient insect wear and tear which only adds to its charm. There is wonderful riveted detail around the inside of the bowl. It's missing a little section of the edge which just illuminates its fascinating history.
They were traditionally used as food preparation bowls, as well as to serve food in. Nowadays they would be a welcome piece in any home, as wall decoration or fruit bowl etc.
