Description

A beautiful bench from the late Qing dynasty. This bench is around 130 years old, made from elm, with good patination and original ox blood red lacquer. It has double sidebars and fluted stretchers with curvy carved apron for aesthetic purposes. Given its age its in great condition, it has got a crack in one of the legs but it is still sturdy.

Such benches were frequently used in public places such as restaurants but also in homes. In a modern setting, they would still be marvellous around a kitchen table or in a hall or conservatory.

The dimensions of this Bench are as follows- H - 51cm, L - 96cm, W - 31cm at base, 17cm on seat.
