Description

A beautiful bench from the late Qing dynasty. This bench is around 130 years old, made from elm, with good patination and original blood red lacquer. It has double sidebars and fluted legs with curvy scroll-like apron for aesthetic purposes. Given its age its in great condition, it has got a small crack on the seat but it doesn't effect it.

Such benches were frequently used in public places such as restaurants but also in homes. In a modern setting, they would still be marvellous around a kitchen table or in a hall or conservatory.

The dimensions of this Bench are as follows- H - 50cm, L - 100.5cm, W - 31cm at base, 14.5cm on seat.
