These stunning pieces are known as Dandiya sticks. They are used in a Gujarati folk dance called Dandiya Raas which is performed during a 9 day festival, in which the Goddess Durga is celebrated. These sticks represent Durga's sword, to symbolise her power and bravery. These specific sticks showcase a beautiful array of bold colours and they also show how much use they got due to the areas of missing paint on both sticks. Due to the age and use of these pieces, one of them does have a little chunk missing.
The dimensions of this rolling pin are as follows: H - 28cm, W - 2.5cm, D - 2.5cm.
