Intricately detailed silver Buddha with a golden crown, thought to be mid 18th Century.
It has been made using the repousse method; a silver sheet wrapped around a tree sap core. The buddha is in the 'Calling the Earth to Witness pose' - the definition for the moment of enlightenment.
Although the Buddha is small, the details are immaculate, down to the tiny, perfect ears.
