Our Nunnington showroom is dominated by Asian antiques ranging from large statement furniture through to decorative objects. Items are sourced from around the globe with the majority coming from India, China, Japan, Korea, Tibet and other tribal states from around the world.

Although coming from the other side of the world, it is very interesting to see how easily Asian items blend in to a western style and can lift a room, as well as being functional where required.
The majority of our furniture was originally made for home use i.e. not for export to the west. This makes for a simpler style and a great deal of character which is easy to live with. Red and black lacquers were used to add colour, particularly with smaller items such as Chinese rice baskets and wedding gifts. The lacquers bring a dash of colour and interest to a room.
Indian and Mongolian pieces are often beautifully painted, frequently in muted colours, and many have an almost mystical air about them.
The age range of our stock is very wide with many items having been made hundreds of years ago. Virtually all of our stock will predate 1950. We always endeavour to individually date our pieces.
Our Showroom is set in the beautiful village of Nunnington in North Yorkshire. Your trip could easily be combined with a visit to our neighbouring studio friends here at Nunnington Studios and to Nunnington Hall, a National Trust property. Castle Howard is only a few miles away.
