This stunning piece of furniture originates from India in the 1890s, and is known as a Whatnot. This specific Whatnot has been hand carved in an Anglo-Indian style, and has intricate carvings on the poles making it very unique. It would have been used as a general storage appliance within the average Indian household. 

Nowadays, it can be used for the same reason or as an oriental feature in your home.
