These beautiful bowls originated in India within the early 20th century. They were crafted using the repousse method, which allowed the design to protrude forward. What makes these bowls so unique is the intrinsic carved detailing around the outside. The carvings consist of illustrations of birds and flowers. These bowls specifically have a handle which showcases a cobra wrapped around it which, in Indian culture, is associated with divine femininity and symbolises fertility and wisdom.
They would make beautiful candle holders or unique jewellery stores!
